Section 01

Definitions

• "Application" or "App": the application MiuLingo (Package: com.shadowings.gero), available on Android and as a Web version.
• "Developer" / "Owner": Emmanuele Villa (Shadowings), the creator and copyright owner of MiuLingo.
• "User": any individual who downloads, installs, or interacts with the App.
• "Educational Content": lessons, quizzes, compendium, Gardiner list signs, vocabulary, and instructional materials within the App.
• "Full Version (PRO)": the optional in-app purchase unlocking advanced chapters and custom word saving in the Builder.
• "Experience Points & Hearts": educational gamification elements used to track learning progress and quiz attempts within the Application, without real-world monetary value.
• "Hieroglyph Builder": the tool enabling users to compose, render in Manuel de Codage (MdC), export to transparent PNG, and share hieroglyphic inscriptions.

Section 02

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using MiuLingo, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue using and uninstall the App.

Section 03

Description of Service

MiuLingo offers a gamified educational experience for learning ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic writing, featuring:

• 11-Chapter Curriculum: structured progression covering uniliteral, biliteral, and triliteral signs, gender/number, thematic vocabulary, grammar rules, and famous names.
• Interactive Quizzes: multiple choice, transliteration tests, and daily streak maintenance quizzes.
• Hieroglyph Compendium: searchable Gardiner list catalog with multilingual meanings, transliterations, and bookmarks.
• Hieroglyph Builder: Manuel de Codage composer with right-to-left toggle, royal cartouches, PNG image export, and system sharing.
• Custom Avatars: animated characters (Alyn, Nilo, Zeta, Masko) with customizable visual palettes.
• Android Widget: home screen widget showing daily streak and heart status.

Section 04

Accounts & Registration

You may use the App as an anonymous guest or create an authenticated account via email/password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activities occurring under your account.

Section 05

Intellectual Property & Limited License

All intellectual property rights in the software, art assets, character designs, and educational materials belong to the Developer. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial educational use.

Section 06

In-App Purchases (PRO Version)

Users may optionally unlock the Full Version (PRO) through the standard in-app purchase channel on Google Play. Billing and refunds are governed by Google's platform terms.

Section 07

Gamification System & Hearts

Hearts represent available attempts during quiz exercises. Users start with 10 hearts, and receive an automatic daily study bonus (+5 hearts) each day. Users who purchase the Full Version (PRO) enjoy unlimited hearts to practice and learn without waiting times or daily limits. The Application contains no advertisements and no pay-to-win virtual currencies.

Section 08

Hieroglyph Builder & Exported Content

Images exported from the Hieroglyph Builder may be saved and shared for personal, educational, and creative purposes. You agree not to generate unlawful, defamatory, or offensive inscriptions.

Section 09

Cloud Synchronization & Storage

User progress is backed up via Firebase Cloud Firestore and cached locally in Jetpack DataStore. While robust safeguards are in place, the Developer is not liable for data loss caused by network failures or device malfunctions.

Section 10

User Conduct & Prohibitions

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, exploit bugs, or access App backend servers using automated scripts, bots, or unauthorized tools.

Section 11

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Application and Educational Content are provided "AS IS". While designed with care, content is intended for educational and enthusiast learning rather than academic certification.

Section 12

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App.

Section 13

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with Google Cloud Firebase and Google Play. Your relationship with those third-party platforms is governed by their respective terms and policies.

Section 14

Children

Minors may use MiuLingo with the knowledge and consent of their parent or legal guardian.

Section 15

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of MiuLingo following revisions signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Section 16

Termination & Account Deletion

You may terminate your agreement and request permanent account deletion at any time via our deletion web form or by contacting us.

Section 17

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy and the European Union, without prejudice to mandatory statutory consumer protections in your country of residence.
